FOR HAVEN'S SAKE : Xuan Sheng's Triathlon,a fund-raiser for The Salvation Army Haven Children's Home5/7/2011 What has our team mate, Xuan Sheng, been up to since we returned from Sikkim? Watch this video to find out! On 5 June 2011, our friend, Ou Yong Xuan Sheng (a 2nd year student from SMU) will be taking part in an iron-distance triathlon, Challenge Cairns, to raise funds for The Salvation Army Haven Children's Home.
Challenge Cairns is part of the Global Challenge Family, a series of iron and half iron distance triathlon races held around the globe in places such as New Zealand, Denmark, Germany and now in Cairns, Australia. Participants are to complete the entire race within 17 hours. Training 19-22 hours a week, for 22 weeks since December 2010, Xuan Sheng is committed to pushing himself to achieve a timing of 11 hours 30 minutes or faster to raise more funds for the children's educational needs. Full proceeds will be channeled to The Haven. You can share the same beliefs with Xuan Sheng by calling 6555 0245/6555 0247 to find out the Salvation Army, with you or your organization, can empower the children to create meaningful opportunities! Weixin's first Solo Exhibition opened this evening at TriSpace @ LASALLE College of the Arts. It featured her monoprints as well as some packaging design mounted on pedestals. Please come down and support our friend Weixin before the show closes on 27th April. After attending Xin's exhibition, we proceeded to stapling the booklets, as well as packed the materials for each participant for tomorrow's beads workshop at Mandy's space in LASALLE's Fine Arts Studio. Thank you Mandy for kindly lending us your space for a day!
